Worship Leader Job Description
Principle Function
The Worship Leader provides leadership and direction for the music ministry of First Baptist Church Youngsville under the supervision of the Pastor. The Worship Leader is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing worship services, special events, and other musical activities.
Responsibilities
Worship Leadership:
- Lead the congregation in worship through music.
- Select and arrange appropriate music for worship services.
- Direct the choir, praise team, and other musical ensembles.
- Coordinate with the Senior Pastor and other ministry leaders to plan worship services.
Music Ministry Development:
- Recruit and train new members for the choir, praise team, and other musical ensembles.
- Develop and implement a music ministry plan.
- Promote and grow the music ministry within the church.
Special Events:
- Plan and coordinate music for special events, such as Christmas, Easter, and other celebrations.
- Collaborate with other ministry leaders to create meaningful and impactful events.
Community Outreach:
- Represent the church in the community through music.
- Participate in community events and outreach programs.
Technology Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain the church's technology infrastructure.
- Ensure the security and reliability of all technology systems.
- Oversee the church's audio/visual systems, including sound, lighting, streaming, and projection equipment including coordinating with volunteer members to ensure successful worship experience for the congregation.
- Manage the technology ministry budget
Administration:
- Manage the music ministry budget
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of musical equipment.
- Coordinate with other staff members to ensure smooth operation of the music ministry.
- Manage physical and digital music library
- Attend scheduled staff meetings as needed.
Qualifications
- A lifestyle congruent with biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).
- A call to worship ministry.
- Degree in music or two years’ experience in leading worship services and directing musical ensembles.
- Flexibility in worship style that aligns with Biblical doctrine.
- Strong vocal and instrumental skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for music and worship.
- Commitment to the mission and vision of First Baptist Church Youngsville.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to relocate to Youngsville, LA (or adjacent area)
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary to be negotiated during the offer of employment according to bylaws
