Ministry Assistant Description

Principle Function

The Ministry Assistant provides essential administrative support to the church office and staff under the supervision of the Office Manager or Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church Youngsville. This role involves a variety of tasks, including clerical duties, data entry, and office management.

Responsibilities

Clerical Duties:

  • Answer and direct phone calls.
  • Greet visitors and provide information.
  • Manage the church's filing system.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports.
  • Assist with office organization and maintenance.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly tasks as listed in Office Administration Duties document.

Data Entry:

  • Enter data into the church's database system.
  • Update membership records and contact information.
  • Process donations and contributions.

Office Management:

  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Schedule meetings and appointments.
  • Assist with event planning and coordination.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors.
  • Operate accounts payable responsibilities

Support Staff:

  • Provide administrative support to the church staff, including the Pastor and other ministry leaders.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
     

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with development and management of website and social media content
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to the mission and vision of First Baptist Church Youngsville.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to relocate to Youngsville, LA (or adjacent area)
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings as needed.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary to be negotiated during the offer of employment
